September 2, 2017 All Day
“The Calabogie Boogie Ride”
When: Saturday September 2nd & Sunday September 3rd, 2017 (Stay until Monday if you can!)
Where: At our newly sanctioned ride location in Calabogie, Ontario
Calabogie offers gorgeous vistas, rolling hills and plenty of lakes. Even a loop through an overgrown golf course. Imagine cantering down the fairway while golfers on the open course watch in awe!
84 Stoughton Side Road, Calabogie Ontario.
Whichever way you take to get to Calabogie, take 511 (Lanark County Road), turn onto Barryvale road, take a left on Tatty Hill Road, and make sure you take a left on to Stoughton Side Road at the top of the hill (Google might send you past the turn to the back side of the farm!), then follow signs into your camping field. For large rigs turn wide into the field on your right. Should be plenty of space, there’s a brand new access just for us and our big rigs!
Who: Something for everyone. Great event for
- riders new to the sport
- horses new to camping,
- those who want to boost their ride points
- bronze level riders who wish to enter two days of riding and keep it under 40 miles
- or those who wish to complete 50 miles over two days.
- And of course your significant others and family. It’s a great getaway location.
(We hope you will support us in making this an annual ride. Your feedback on this year’s event will help us design our 2018 ride. We plan to add two 50 milers, two 25 LDs and a ride & tie. If all goes well, there are so many trails here, we envision a 75 and 100 miler Calabogie Challenge in 2019!)
Onsite Farrier: Pat St-Jean will be available for your farrier needs in the evenings (when not out riding himself) (any farrier fees are to be paid direct to Pat)
Photographer: Wendy Webb Photography.com
Rider Massages: Susan Veale will provide 15 minute massages for $20, first come, first served. Saturday and Sunday 3 to 6pm
Call for Volunteers: whether new, family or friend, an experienced rider or a seasoned volunteer, contact Pauline and let her know what interests you and we would be happy to find a role to match.
Win a prize: calling all creatives to submit a logo for this new event. (Even if you can’t attend the ride.) And there will be a prize for the one whose logo is chosen. (By participating in this contest, The Calabogie Boogie event will have rights to use it.)
Why: Because this is the perfect weekend for a fun (and family) getaway to a great location. Enjoy the beautiful countryside, laugh with others and create new memories.

Designed with the best footing possible and some of our favourite trails. Including: hay fields, rolling hills, dirt hydros, an overgrown golf course and double wide trails. It also includes a half km of paved road with a 5 foot wide grassy side.
|This includes two of our favourite loops.
Including hay fields, rolling hills, logging trails with water crossings, some technical trail with twists and turns, sandy canter stretches, country lanes and yes, you will get to enjoy the overgrown golf course.
There is a stretch of K&P trail road where the rocks have popped up due to the rain this year. So hoof protection is recommended.
|This has been designed to have as limited of road as possible. So the footing is fairly gentle. It includes the shorter loops of Saturdays 25 mile set speed—giving you a taste of the best of the best.||Note: Only one loop from Saturday’s 25 mile Set speed is repeated. The other loop is a brand new loop. Adding variety to your two day experience. This will add a K&P trail ride down a dirt/ sand/ sometimes gravel road passing three lakes and beautiful scenery. Hoof protection is recommended.||Catered Meal.
Dancing, Visiting and socializing. Plus some more surprises. But you have to attend to get in on the fun.
NOTE: We were going to charge riders a separate meal fee to help cover costs. Based on the preliminary response, and with your support, we are hoping that by including the Sunday meal in your rider registration that this will be a sustainable event we can grow for next year. Thanks in advance for your support.
