Training Rides

Training Rides are held every year by OCTRA. They are normally held in conjunction with a clinic given or sanctioned by the Education Committee.   They must include lectures and provide educational material in consultation with the Education Committee to encourage participants to pursue the sport.  Go to Education Clinics for more information.

A Training Ride must be a maximum of 24 km and are usually 10+ km long with a minimum and maximum ride time stated.  They must be run using the General Rules and Health Requirements as laid out by OCTRA with the exception of the negative EIA test requirement.  There are plenty of volunteers available to help and encourage new riders to the sport. Since it is not a competition, there are no placings; however, the distances ridden are eligible to be included in the Distance Reward Program.

Check the OCTRA Ride Calendar for upcoming Training Rides in your area.
