OCTRA Needs Your Help.

Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer for OCTRA but don’t want to commit to a full-time position like BOD member or Committee Chair?

The OCTRA Board of Directors is looking for a volunteer to update, revise and computerize our various forms. The ideal candidate would have strong computer skills and familiarity with setting up on-line forms. Taking direction from a current BOD member, you would update and revise our many forms one form at a time.

Candidate Search For New OCTRA Treasurer.

Our current treasurer, Rick Burnside, reminded the board at its last meeting that he had stepped up “temporarily” into the treasurer’s role when OCTRA found itself suddenly without a treasurer in May 2017. Rick has agreed to assist and train a new treasurer through this fall with a formal hand-over at the next AGM in February 2019. His generosity permits OCTRA to undertake a candidate search now and to make the transition smoothly.

The successful volunteer will have:

  • accounting or strong bookkeeping experience,
  • experience with Quick Books financial software,
  • comfort with electronic funds transfer,
  • an OCTRA membership in good standing,
  • the answer to the puzzle at the top of this page 🙂

OCTRA is only as strong as its volunteers. Volunteering has an excellent return on investment. You receive so much more than you could ever give.

2018 Summer’s End Ride Results.

Results are posted for the 2018 Summer’s End Rides.

NOTE 1: While some rides were advertised as placed set speed, the sanctioning committee only sanctioned placed set speed rides for 2018 and SS results were processed as graded rides.

NOTE 2: Ride Results become official and are not subject to change – Thirty days after they appear in an official OCTRA publication…unless the OCTRA Secretary is notified in writing of an error, or intentional fraud is proven.

50th Anniversary Chair.

A commemorative OCTRA Directors Chair is being presented this 50th Anniversary year only, to a person who is special and has done something Above and Beyond at each Ride.

The recipient is chosen by ride Organizers, and/or fellow workers. We are pleased to announce this year’s (so far) 50th Anniversary Chair holders:

  • Rick Tenhove,
  • Kristen Russell,
  • Earle Baxter, and
  • Kristen Howard.
