Coates Creek Challenge 2018 Results.

Here are the results for the 2018 rides at the Coates Creek Challenge which this year was run in demanding, hot, humid weather. Of note are the 42% completion for the 160K ride and 57% completion for the 120K both run on the hottest day of the summer.

Eastern Crabbet Arabian Horse Society Awards.

The Eastern Crabbet Arabian Horse Society congratulates the following Crabbet-Related Arabian Horses who won awards for being the highest placing Purebred, Half Arabian or Anglo Arabian Crabbet-Related Horse in certain events at the Coates Creek Challenge on July 1 and 2, 2018:

  • Glorious Song IA (41.64% Crabbet blood) ridden by Solstice Pecile in the 80km OPEN on Saturday;
  • Empiric+ (44.28% Crabbet blood) ridden by Misha Green in the 80km FEI on Saturday;
  • BFA Famenphyre (53.93% Crabbet blood) ridden by Amy Wilson in the 45km on Saturday;
  • Impiril Norsk (38.83% Crabbet blood) ridden by Bella Imbeault (owned by Tania Poehlman) in the 45km on Saturday JUNIOR;
  • Rivendell Elessar (58.35% Crabbet blood) ridden by David Henderson (Janet Henderson, Bri Henderson-Elliott) in the 45km on Sunday;
  • Aristaborr (43.84% Crabbet blood) ridden by Kristen Howard in the 80km OPEN on Sunday;
  • Schakka Kahn (29.21% Crabbet blood) ridden by Kim Woolley in the 120km OPEN on Sunday;
  • Traction (35.97% Crabbet blood) ridden by Melody Blittersdorf in the 120km FEI on Sunday; and,
  • Amber Kiera (45.66% Crabbet blood) ridden by Dessia Miller in the 160km FEI on Sunday.

Summer Solstice Distance Rides 2018 Results.

Here are the results for the Summer Solstice Distance Rides. The equestrian portion of the TRIPLE CROWN EVENT ( A Mountain Biker & Bike, A Trail Runner, An Equestrian & Equine) is recorded as a 6 mile MILEAGE ride.

OCTRA 50th Book Editors and Photos Needed.

Rose Danko and Nancy Beacon with Wendy Webb on the computer have spent the winter digging thru 50 years worth of archives finding an incredible number of OCTRA highlights to be shared in this beautiful coffee table book. The book at this point is over 100 pages, and will be available in soft and hard cover for the 2019 AGM.

Editing

The OCTRA 50th Book draft is set up so we can have several people editing on the cloud. We would love for people who are passionate about various sections to be able to join the process and edit a section. There are many years of archives scanned and uploaded into the media library for people editing to access as well as Wendy Webb’s OCTRA ride images.

Photos

There is a link for people to contribute edited photos to the media library of the book, no promises that all with be used however its good to have photos to draw from. Go to https://octra.picaboo.com/ the upload link is beside the camera icon. Be sure the title contains: Year, names of people/horses in the photo and any other information that would other wise be lost.

We have a long list of sections which is quite lengthy and fluid as new ideas come up, we welcome keen people to contact us to figure out where there expertise can best be utilized.

Results for Aprifest Endurance in May.

Results are posted for the first ride of the season. Following several changes in point calculations made at the last AGM, scripts were completely re-written. I think I got it right 🙂 but if you see errors please let me know!!
