AGM 2016 – Feb 25 & 26, 2017.

February 25 & 26, 2017 — Best Western, Cobourg, Ontario

The 2016 AGM is just over the horizon and should be a great weekend for all of our members to come together to reminisce about this past season, gain some valuable information and do some work on some of the administration aspects of our Association …. and of course have some fun.

Currently the Committee is inviting various Vendors to our annual get together to share information with our participants as well as have a few items for sale that our members should find interesting.

Nancy Zukewich, a long-time OCTRA member, will open the Meeting portion of the weekend with some interesting insight into how yoga can benefit the rider as well as complement the rider’s ongoing training.

Julie Phair, Awards Chair, is currently working with David Morgan, Year End Points, to get all the Awards in order Be prepared to cheer on your fellow riders and perhaps take a home a trophy yourself.

Chrystal Woodhouse, our Education Chair, has organized another great clinic for us on the Sunday with Stagg Newman and his presentation on the “Enduring Partnership” to assist participants in creating a successful long-term union with their equine partner.

If anyone has ideas/requests for the Awards Banquet (eg vendors, clinic, etc.) please contact a Committee member (Sharon Anderegg, Judy Durst, Pat Kuffner, Kelsa Staffa).

Some Passwords Not Working.

Following an upgrade to a series of plugins, some account passwords may not work. Rest assured, your account is still there. Here is what to do if you get the following dreaded message:
[ac-box color=”lred”]
ERROR: The password you entered for the username Major-Domo is incorrect. Lost your password?
[/ac-box]

  1. Click on “Lost your password?”
  2. Scroll down and fill out the Forgotten Password form. Enter your username or email address. Don’t forget to click “I’m not a robot”.
  3. When ready click “Get New Password”.
  4. Check your email for a link allowing you to reset your password.
  5. Click the link and enter your new password. The system recommends a random one. You can use it or replace it with one of your own choosing.

If you find yourself redirected to the Dashboard “Your Profile” page instead of the Home Page simply click on the extreme upper left corner where it says “Ontario Competitive Trail Riding Association”.

Bell Network to Blame.

Thanks to the network sleuths supporting our ISP Weehost we determined that the Bell Internet backbone in Montreal had a few bad hair days in row last week. OCTRA members in eastern Ontario routed through Montreal experienced problems reaching our site or could not reach the site at all. Those on mobile devices fared better. Our site serves much tighter, smaller pages to mobile devices and those devices are frequently routed over different backbone lines. All is back to normal now. It was an opportunity, however, for your webmaster to optimize the site in several ways. Hopefully this will be a rare event. Thanks go to Rob Wright for all his support.
