On February 4th Nancy Beacon asked the Nominations and Elections Committee to remove her name from nomination for Director#3. Nominations from the floor at the February 22nd AGM will now be accepted for Director #3. She further requested the following message be distributed to members.
Dear OCTRA Members:
I had previously put my name forward to return as Director on the OCTRA Board of Directors for another three year term. Having given it further consideration, I am removing my name from Nomination for the position of Director. I would like to share with you, the membership, the reason for my decision.
Firstly, I would like to express my full confidence in the current Board of Directors and Executive.
One of the stated goals for the Board of Directors going forward is to support our Event Managers and make members from all regions of our club feel equal and included. To this end, I feel it would be of great value to bring in a Director from the eastern region of the Province. I am therefore, removing my name from nomination for the Director position to open up a spot which I would hope would encourage a member to join the BOD to represent this area of the province.
I assure you that I will continue to fully support the Board and it’s Executive in any way I can, both as an Event Manager and a Member of good standing, and will remain as the Endurance Committee representative to the Board.
